![]() Yes, you heard us right! Leading by example can be an effective method for anyone. Whether it's a coworker, spouse, best friend or adult child. When the people in your life are aware of your good habits, it can inspire them to take better care of themselves. Did You Brush?Good oral health is directly tied to the rest of your body health. While brushing and flossing are a daily part of your hygienic routine, things like eating healthy and cutting out sweets is a great way to lead by example. A poor diet leaves a body malnourished and unhealthy. Not only will your body suffer, so will your teeth. Malnutrition can lead to tooth loss, gum disease and major complications in the mouth. Perhaps you have a spouse who is lacking in the oral care department. Why nag and fight about it? Instead, try things like purchasing new electric toothbrushes for everyone in the family, or try involving your spouse in helping to keep the kids motivated to brush. The more involved everyone is in the family well-being, the more likely your family members will be to participate in healthy habits. Finally, don't skip your regularly scheduled cleanings and checkups. If you're trying to get a partner to get into the dentist, suggest you both take a day off, and go together. Ultimately, you can only be responsible for your own oral health care, but leading by example can be an effective way to get not only your children involved, but other adults as well. Your teeth are something that you will keep for a lifetime! We look forward to helping you get your entire family in to see us soon! |
